The Best Meal of the Day

Breakfast, in my book, is the undisputed King of all meals. Would you want to eat a filet of fish for breakfast, lunch, and dinner? I don't think so. An egg, bacon, and cheese sandwich on an English muffin? Clearly the winner. Breakfast foods are easily the most versatile, most craveable articles of culinary deliciousness, and the event known as brunch only solidifies the love that we have as a country for breakfast, in all of its glory. At home in San Clemente, and here in Dallas, I have slowly but surely scoured the corners of both cities in search of the best breakfast in town. I apologize if you are a breakfast hater, for your sake you might want to censor the following images...

Eateries in San Clemente, CA
An array of breakfast sandwiches on homemade bagels from The Bagel Shack

My personal favorite: the Baja Malibu, also from The Bagel Shack
The Bagel Shack's variety of homemade, best in the West bagels
The delicious egg scramble from Pipes Cafe
One of my favorite breakfast burritos, also from Pipes Cafe... side note...those are not my hands...
The BOMB Nutella crepe from Antoine's Cafe
The best crepe in town, actually on the San Clemente Pier, from La Galette Creperie
The amazing bagel sandwich, complete with fresh squeezed OJ from Coffee Importers in the Dana Point Harbor

Eateries in Dallas, TX

The Haystack from brunch at The Grape; layers of potato, tomatoes, egg, avocado, Muenster cheese, and Sriracha hot sauce... it's deadly
Disclaimer: images not proportionate to deliciousness... the huevos rancheros from AllGood Cafe
Also from AllGood Cafe, the lovely pancakes
The ridiculous breakfast tacos from  Bread Winners Cafe
Veggie Benedict from Another Broken Egg Cafe
The artery-clogging, yet so worth it Eggs Blackstone, also from Another Broken Egg Cafe
And last, but never least, a breakfast crepe from my all-time favorite, BUZZBREWS Kitchen

Anyone down for a late-night breakfast run?
